For Mara!

I've had requests for a post with this (old) project in it.

The project?  A scarf.  

But not just any scarf.  An illusion scarf.  Illusion knitting is accomplished with knit and purl ridges and bumps.  When it's done, it looks like stripes from the front...

...then you tilt it at an angle and the image you knit into the object will appear!  In this case, it's the Dark Mark.

Here's a picture of the scarf before it was totally done.  It shows the knit-in picture a little better.

I made the scarf to go with Brad's We Call Them Pirates hat.

 
So there it is, with a bonus project thrown in for extra excitement! 

Now to return to knitting like a maniac for Christmas...
