I know I asked what was pretty much impossible--guess what I made out of yarn. I think that's what I love about yarn. I can turn into just about anything. Possibility in a skein (or ball, or hank, or...).
Anyway, here's what I made out of some of that yarn.
Men's Convertible Gloves (pattern at Knit Picks) for my Dad for Christmas. I used Knit Picks' Shamrock yarn in Byrne (almost the same spelling as his mother's maiden name--they're Irish), and they turned out really nicely. I'm sad they're discontinuing that yarn because it's a great yarn with really nice body. A little coarser, but not rough or scratchy. I liked it a lot and that was my first try with it. Oh well, I suppose there will always be more yarns!
I did knit them at a little tighter gauge than the pattern called for, because I felt the fabric was too loose. As a result, I went up a size or so to compensate for that. Here's my project on Ravelry for slightly more specific notes.
