Roving, singles on the bobbin, and final yarn:
I love the way this yarn spun up. Shiny, but soft, and such beautiful color gradations.
The yarn knit up wonderfully, too. It looks like I planned the striping to land just right for the gathers, but honestly, it just did that on its own! How lucky was that?
I even like the i-cord tie. I-cord always seems like it's going to take FOREVER. Typically, the dialogue in my head sounds something like, "24 inches of i-cord? I will DIE before this is ever, ever finish...oh. I'm done. Well that wasn't so bad." It's quick, it looks snappy--like it took a lot of work--and it's kind of satisfying.
I think the colors are a lot better in person. Because of the silk in this yarn a lot of light is reflected from it and it seems to always photograph a lot lighter than it really is, especially out in the sun. But I still love it. (The pictures of the roving and the spinning are a little more accurate.)
Now I need to see how much I have left and figure out what to do with it. Wrist warmers to go with the hat maybe? Hmmmm...
Anyone have any ideas?
