Verity Hat

When we went to Montana and Idaho last Christmas, my winter hat got left behind.  Because Brad felt bad that he left my hat (he did say he was getting it for me), I was able to buy some really beautiful yarn to make a new one.  Bribery yarn?  Maybe.  But I can live with that.

I ended up with three skeins of Louisa Harding Grace Hand-dyed Wool.  It's a 50-50 blend of merino wool and silk and it's hand painted with the most beautiful, luscious colors.  Love.
It's called Latte, but I also think it kind of looks like chocolate covered cherries.

I used a pattern by Ysolda Teague called Verity, and I really like the end result.  I wish it was a bit bigger but it's still great.  I still need a button for this thing so I can wear it (I finished it at the end of winter, for crying out loud!  What's wrong with me that I can't find a stinkin' button?).  Plus I'd like to make some mittens or fingerless mitts to go with the hat--I've got a little over a skein left.  Can't let it go to waste, that's for sure.

Once I find the perfect button, I'll take a picture of it on my head and you can see what it actually looks like!

Oooohhh, that yarn is fantastically yummy. And the hat is really cute, too.
