A couple of things

Just thought I'd stop by the blog today and let you see a couple of things I've finished.  (I'm changing things up a bit and doing this blog post on a Monday!)  Oh, actually, just one thing I've finished (the others are secret, and that reminds me, I need to do a secret blog post to put up in January) and a little bit of news.

Here is Holly's (not the bag, the daughter this time) yarn.  If you remember, she picked out the fiber colors and I told her I'd spin it for her:

I ended up doing the chain (or Navajo) plying, to preserve the color changes.  I'm thinking they're not as long as I wanted them to be, but I'm pretty happy with the yarn otherwise.  It could have been thinner, but I was spinning the single with a sort of plan (at first anyway) to keep the yarn as a single.  So it was a bit chunkier than usual--resulting in a chunkier 3-ply yarn.  We're thinking of making hand warmers, leg warmers, or something else for Holly out of this yarn.  I am interested to see what it looks like when it's knit.  I'll definitely let you see the finished product when it's done.

In other news, we will be taking a vacation very soon, so I will be taking a week or two off from the blog.  I don't want you thinking that I'm ignoring it.  I'll just be too darn busy (or absent) to really work on the blog.  I've got a lotta baking, cooking, planning, and packing to do this week, and I'd like it to be done before Friday night (cause it's no fun to do everything at the last minute and then be in a horrible mood and ruin the first part of the vacation with a stinky attitude about how nobody helped and you had to do it all on your own...theoretically).

See you in September!

Thanks on both counts! We're hoping the vacation is very restful and rejuvenating. :)
