I love this woman, hard. In case you are wondering who she is, she is The Yarn Harlot. She is one of us. She knows what it's like.
The best thing about her, though, is that she is capable of putting all of this knitterly stuff into words--in a way that other people can understand. Yes, they probably still think it's weird that we "collect" yarn on trips or that we spend every available moment knitting (or doing something fiber-related), but they've been given insight on why.
With that in mind, I would like to recommend this post by the Yarn Harlot.
For the Others
Maybe, just maybe, she'll give you a little bit of insight into this (most wonderful) time of year for a knitter/fiber artist (if you are not intimately acquainted with it already). Or, maybe you know someone who could use this insight. Either way, this post cries out to be passed on.
Enjoy!
P.S. Gift suggestions for the Muggles are always good and she never fails to come up with fantastic ones!

Thanks! (That was sarcastic, by the way!!) I just "wasted" a half hour reading back blogs and now I have another fiber-related blog to read. Yeah, thanks! ;)
I just finished my 4th knitted x-mas gift. Now, I worry--will people like them? Will they hate them? But the worst is:
Will they lose them?
If they lose them, I may have a hissy fit.
