I was going to save this yarn to knit for last because it's probably the most "fun" colored yarn I bought. A reward, I thought, for all the hard work of getting 22 socks knit in a short amount of time. Well, 20 socks, because they'd be the last two socks. But I couldn't do it. The yarn called to me...
I thought I'd try something new with this pair, because of the way the yarn stripes. I didn't want that to be disrupted, so I attempted an afterthought heel on these socks. That means I knit a tube with a toe on it. No heel. I measured to where the heel should go and picked up 2/3 of the stitches in one row, and then 2/3 of them again two rows higher:
