Hottest day of the year (actually 23 years!) today!  It was 100 degrees, with wind.  Strong wind.  We didn't think it was that strong until we packed up and went to the beach at Lake George (since I didn't bring the camera, a virtual tour will have to take the pictures' place--unfortunately, the sock is not included.).  Once we were settled in the grass, watching the kids and Brad play in the water (Harry was with us), we found that the wind was basically sandblasting us with the loose sand from the beach!  It was hot, horribly windy, and sand was blowing at us, into our mouths and eyes.

We abandoned the beach for the relatively sand-free backyard and used the sprinkler instead.  I worked on Danny's second sock all this time.  So far, the sock probably has sunscreen and sand in it.  Good thing it'll be washed before it's given as a gift...

I remember this day so very well. It was so hot and uncomfortable! I don't think we had any air conditioning at that point, and I believe we ended up a Joy's at some point, just for some relief (well, not only that, but you get my drift).

What SPF is that sock, now?;-)

It was so miserable! That sand at the beach HURT! I wore my swimsuit around the house at one point, I was so hot (and we have a/c, plus my FIL was here, if that tells you how desperate I was to be cooler!!). Hopefully the sock has NO SPF now--I'm hoping I washed it well enough! :D
