I feel really productive and creative, but the house usually ends up looking like this:
| Kitchen table. Taken over by fiber pursuits. |
I should probably clarify. I feel productive in fiber stuff. Not cleaning or other housework. Don't worry; the kids are still being educated and fed and all that. Let's just say the floors are a little "fluffier" than usual, and I'm doing my best to work my way through the laundry.
Anyway, what I need help with is this. I think I have made up my mind, but I want to see what other people think about this. I am working on making this sweater and I've narrowed my yarn choices down to two options. Both have two of the same yarns (brown, natural), the third yarn is the one I'm not sure about.
First choice: Brown, natural, and handspun handpainted blue/purpleish mix (please ignore the horrible tension issues, I was working this in the round but not in the round and it always looks ugly for me).
| This picture doesn't capture the blue yarn as well as it could. It's very nuanced. |
Second choice: Brown, natural, and Green Tea Heather yarn leftover from Brad's Christmas Hat (coming soon to the blog). Again, ignore horrible tension, please!
Here's what I'm thinking. I love the green because of the contrast (and the green itself). I love the handspun because it's gorgeous, more subtle, and I spun it myself. I'm also thinking the blue might look better on me, but I'm not totally sure that's true. At this point, I would probably go with the handspun because it's more special and would make a more special sweater. But I do love the green! I should probably also share that in the blue sample, I used a heavier-weight natural yarn that I won't be using in the actual sweater (too bulky). I'll be using the natural in the green sample. So if the first one looks bulkier, that's why.
So what do you think?
